Senior Data Engineer

Staffmax is hiring for Senior Data Engineer. This is a Full time 1 year contract position. 

Pay Rate- USD72/hr.
Location: Spring, TX On-site

Job Description:

As a Senior Data Engineer, you should have subject matter expertise integrating, transforming, and consolidating data from various structured and unstructured data sources into formats that are suitable for building analytics solutions. Responsibilities for this role include—but are not limited to—helping with data modeling, identifying relevant data sources for the task at hand and working with stakeholders, data scientists and software developers to plan how data will be used by a given solution and building and maintaining secure and compliant data processing pipelines by using different tools and techniques.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Build and automate high-performance data processing pipelines/systems to ingest batch and/or streaming data
2. Support the Snowflake and PostgreSQL instances, ensuring optimal performance of tasks, debugging issues with SQL queries, and supporting team’s internal processes and procedures
3. Build scalable data pipelines using varieties of tools, including Qlik Replicate, Five Tran, Databricks, etc.
4. Design data models for optimal storage and retrieval, meeting critical product and business requirements.
Job Requirements

• Self-starter, strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Python, Java
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases
• Demonstrated experience Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Qlik Replicate, Five Tran, Airflow
• Demonstrated experience scripting and automating tasks
• Demonstrated experience with Databricks, Microsoft Azure
• Demonstrated experience with Snowflake, Data warehousing, and PostgreSQL
Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• 5+ years of experience as a data engineer
Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with Scala is a plus
• Working knowledge of Azure Databricks
• Basic knowledge of Data Visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)
• Working knowledge of various data storage technologies
• Working knowledge of Python
• Working knowledge of big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, MongoDB, Kafka, HDFS, YARM, etc.)
• Working knowledge of Containers Technologies (OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes)
• Snowflake Certified: Snowpro Core
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203)
