Position: Senior Accountant
Location: New York City (NYC)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm EST
Compensation: $95,000 – $110,000
Start Date: ASAP
Reports to: Controller

Role Overview:
The Senior Accountant will play a key financial leadership role, overseeing property-level accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, audit support, and guiding financial strategy. This hands-on role requires collaboration across teams and offers a visible leadership opportunity for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for assigned properties.

  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, journal entries, and accruals.

  • Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts.

  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.

  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of all financial records.

  • Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and variance analysis.

  • Coordinate with auditors and assist with external audits.

  • Support property managers with financial records and analysis.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred or in progress).

  • 5+ years accounting experience, with at least 2 years in property management/real estate.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.

  • Proficiency in Excel, accounting systems, and property management software (Yardi, AppFolio, MRI preferred).

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
