Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of current experience Behavioral Psychology Social Worker unless otherwise discussed by recruiter.

Any candidate that has applied directly is not eligible to be onboarded through and agency.Candidates for the Crisis Therapist position must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work Psychology or Counseling and possess the corresponding State of Michigan licensure. Candidates without a state license can be considered but must obtain state licensure LLMSW LLPC TLLP LMSW LPC or LLP within a 60-day training period beginning on the date of hire. Failure to obtain licensure within the training period will result in the employee being unqualified to perform work functions. Beyond the training period all state licensure must continually remain active in effect and free from disciplinary action. Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record and obtain a Michigan Chauffeur License within 30 days of employment. Candidates must obtain the Qualified Mental Health Professional and Substance Abuse Treatment Specialist SATS credentials within 120 days of hire.Candidates must possess a CAADC credential or be on an active approved registered MCBAP certification Development Plan within six weeks of hire. Upon hire the application must be submitted for the Development Plan to MCBAP with or without the required trainings within 30 days of hire or they will not be permitted to provide services. Documentation of required trainings must be submitted with the Development Plan Application or within 90 days of hire. Candidates must have one year of experience may include time spent in fieldwork or internship treating or working with adults who have been diagnosed with serious mental illnesses.Cannot accept candidates who are on student/work visas and/or require sponsorship to work in the U.S. at this time. Candidates for the Crisis Therapist position must have the ability to engage adults diagnosed with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders their families and supporters. They must have expertise in helping clients identify their service needs and preferences helping them build on their individual strengths resources and support and navigate the network of services available at The Guidance Center and in the community. They must have an orientation toward providing community outreach services. Candidates must have the ability to provide trauma-informed care and appropriately handle crisis situations. They must be able to use technology competently demonstrate effective organizational verbal and written communication skills and work independently. Additional requirements include a nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of adults with mental illness and/or substance use disorders their families and providers.


Prior to start date you will need the following sent to the recruiter and credentialing:
  • Resume without time gaps and education notated.
  • References from 2 supervisors in past year (updated yearly).
  • Two forms of ID; one must be a photo ID
  • Photo for Badge ID without filters on white background
  • Immunization Documentation; Covid, Flu (current season), HEP B, MMR, TDaP, Varicella
  • Current Yearly Physical
  • TB TEST; Two step or Quantiferon as requested by facility.
  • BLS and any other certifications required of professional: AHA Preferred and often required
  • Skills Checklist and Competency Exams
  • Background Check and Urine Drug Screens are ordered after receiving job offers
  • Credentialing will require other documentation.
  • Must be fully credentialed prior to start date.
