Host / Hostess – Fine Dining Restaurant
Position Summary
We are seeking a polished and professional Host/Hostess to serve as the first point of contact for our guests. In a high-end dining environment, this role is essential in creating a warm, refined, and memorable first impression while ensuring seamless guest flow and exceptional service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet all guests with professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail upon arrival
- Manage reservations using booking systems (e.g., OpenTable or similar platforms)
- Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize dining room flow and guest experience
- Maintain accurate waitlists and provide realistic wait time estimates
- Escort guests to tables while presenting menus and highlighting key offerings
- Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and management regarding guest needs and table status
- Handle VIP guests, special requests, and guest concerns with discretion and professionalism
- Answer phone calls, manage reservations, and respond to guest inquiries
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing host stand and entrance area
- Uphold the restaurant’s brand standards, dress code, and hospitality expectations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a fine dining or upscale hospitality environment preferred
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Familiarity with reservation systems is an asset
